Employers consistently share the need for students to develop specific technical and non-technical skills in order to do the job they hope to hire you for. Throughout your time in the program you will develop a wide variety of competencies and skills through your courses, projects, PWE, and other work and project experiences.
Additionally, there may be co-curricular opportunities for you to build and gain specific skills and competencies during your time in the program. Two of these potential opportunities include Graduate Assistant (GA) positions within the School of Government and Applied Projects with MPA Alumni and/or Employer Partners.
Opportunities will be updated in the MPA Opportunities Database
Each of these projects and opportunities have a number of benefits which include:
- Increasing a professional network with future employers
- Gaining skills employers are looking for
- Applying theory to practice in-real-time
