The MPA Program is housed within the UNC School of Government.
Due to this unique positioning, students have access to some of the resources and initiatives that occur throughout the school.
Several listservs on various topics are available for students to join. To review the current listservs and instructions on how to join, visit this page.
In addition, the School of Government hopes to facilitate community building via the Community Listserv. This opt-in list (sign up here) is a tool for emails about:
- Event ticket availability
- Recommendations, requests (not work related)
- Campus affinity groups (CVRC, CLC, LGBTQ Center)
- SOG History
- Personal updates, baby photos
- Sharing news (N&O, DTH, non-urgent news)
- Volunteering opportunities
- Notary requests
- Girl Scout cookie sales (and non-SOG fundraising)
- Event invitations not related to government (or not related to UNC), and more.
Using the same link, you can also sign up to receive notifications when there is leftover catering available for others around the building. Please remember to be invited before approaching catering that was purchased for fee-paying clients in our community.
School of Government faculty are renowned and published in a variety of public service areas. Read some current and relevant blog posts by the faculty here. Additionally, the Faculty Fields of Expertise can be found here.
Students requesting faculty serve as references for them should fill out the FERPA Release Form for Faculty References and Recommendations (00052628) and place it on file with the Program Office.
