MPA Students in SOG Courses Program overview:

The overarching goal of this program is to provide professional development opportunities through an MPA co-curricular experience by allowing MPA students to participate in select SOG courses.

There will be a maximum amount of student seats available for each course based on the faculty members requirements and/or resource constraints.  Students will be notified several days in advance of the course if they will be able to access a seat in the course.  This will be based on the response to your application, we will use completed applications in the order they are received for each course.  A waitlist will be captured from the other students that complete the application for each course, in case selected participants are unable to attend.

Course Selection:

  • Each term the MPA Program Office will identify which courses or sessions of courses for that term to target for this initiative.

Cost:

  • The goal is for the MPA student to not incur any cost and for the SOG to not incur any cost
  • Registration Revenue:  Students would not be allowed to take the spot of any paying client wishing to register (even same day registration, if that is offered)
  • Food:  Food will not be offered to students
  • Parking:  Parking will not be offered to students
  • Materials: This will be TBD on a course by course basis as some faculty leads may feel the materials are a necessity
